Gablotka

street art gallery, installation (2014-2017), size: 65 cm x 51 cm x 20 cm

Gablotka was a small street gallery on Marszałkowska 41 Street located in the centre of Warsaw. The display box previously belonged to a cobbler who had his workshop in the yard and you’d see examples of his work inside the box. When the cobbler went on retirement, the display was left empty and seemed like a good place for an urban project. Created out of will to conjure a magical little world, a theater or an aquarium in which one could peer into and marvel at miniature worlds, something that added a bit of color and cheer for people on their way home, and to demonstrate that something seemingly trivial could bring a smile to people’s faces. Personal project.
